Residential

The house calls we've made in Porter for thirty-one years

Hose bibs, under-slab leaks, gas lines to the grill, toilets, disposals and the water heater that finally quit. We isolate, test and fix it, not guess and hope.

Chapter 01

Where a Porter house actually leaks

This ground moves. Blackland and gumbo clay swell in a wet spring and pull tight in an August drought, and a slab that shifts a quarter inch year over year will crack a supply line you'll never see until the water bill jumps or a warm spot shows up on the tile. Hose bibs are the other repeat call, especially after a freeze event when the outside spigot never got wrapped and the line behind it splits.

Gas flex at the grill drop is a smaller job but the same principle applies. A homeowner adds a patio kitchen, taps a line themselves or hires someone who isn't licensed for gas work, and it sits there until we get called out because someone smells it. We've fixed enough of those in Kingwood and Atascocita that we can usually tell you what's wrong before we open the wall.

What we do before we cut

We isolate the section first. Shut the valve, pressure test it, and watch the gauge instead of the wall. If it holds, the leak's somewhere else and we just saved you a hole in your drywall for nothing. If it drops, we know roughly where to look before a single tool touches tile or slab.

For anything under the floor we run a camera down the line before we dig. It tells us the material, the joint, and usually the exact foot mark where the break sits. Cutting concrete on a guess is how a small repair turns into a big one. We've been doing this since 1994 and the camera has saved more slabs than it's cost in rental fees.

Chapter 03

The senior discount and what a free estimate actually covers

We offer a senior citizen discount, and we mean it, not a coupon with an asterisk. If you're on a fixed income and a water heater just failed, tell us up front and it's applied.

A free estimate from us means a licensed plumber looks at the actual problem, tells you what's wrong in plain language, and gives you a real number before anything gets touched. Not a phone quote, not a range. We've found that most people just want to know what they're dealing with, and that part costs nothing.

The everyday repairs that fill the rest of the week

Garbage disposals that hum but won't turn, a toilet that runs all night, a kitchen faucet that's been dripping since Christmas. These are the calls that don't make it into a company's marketing but make up most of a residential book, and they're the ones where a homeowner in North Houston can tell the difference between someone who's done this thirty-one years and someone who hasn't.

New plumbing installation and remodel work is the other half. A bathroom addition or a kitchen retrofit needs someone who'll rough it in right the first time, because reopening a finished wall costs everyone more than doing it correctly before the drywall goes up.
